Katrina Aftermath

Look for satellite imagery from DigitalGlobe, Space Imaging, and Orb Image to play a major role in damage assessments in the affected areas. It could take several days to get cloud-free images, but the before and after assessments from the images will help with relief efforts.

My sons are ready. Sony has been marketing to them (and several hundred thousand on-line players) every time they go online with SOCOM 2. The buzz generated spills over during play as Internet-connected players talk up SOCOM 3 using their push-to-talk (Voice over IP) headsets.

CNN reported a worm outbreak using their “Breaking News” feature. Predictably, concerned users called us attributing observed effects to the media-declared cause. According to published reports, Microsoft activated their “emergency response”. The Wall Street Journal covered the incident with more perspective and information.
